ODE, &C.
On the arrival of his excellency, the right honourable
Norborne, Baron de Bothtourt, his majesty's lieutenant and
governor general of the colony and dominion of Virginia, and
vice admiral of the same.
Recitative.
Virginia, see thy governor appears!
The peaceful olive on his brow he wears!
Sound the shrill trumpets, beat the rattling drums:
From Great Britannia's isle, his lordship comes.
. . . [2 lines]
And let the organs join their tuneful roar
. . . [33 lines]
Then join the sprightly dance, and sing
Health to our governor, and God save the King.
. . . [3 more lines]
